Amma Asante will begin work on her fourth feature and passion project WHERE HANDS TOUCH, a period romantic drama that will begin shooting this summer. The 1940s-set story focuses on the relationship between a mixed-race German girl and an SS officer in Berlin. The Hunger Games’ Amandla Stenberg is in talks to star. Asante, who won a BAFTA as Most Promising Newcomer for her feature debut, A Way of Life, has been at work on Where Hands Touch for a number of years, starting on the script before 2013’s Belle, which went on to gross over $16 million. She’s currently putting the finishing touches on Pathé’s A United Kingdom, which stars David Oyelowo and Rosamund Pike.
